After the death of Sublime's lead vocalist Bradley Nowell in May of 1996 from a heroin overdose, Sublime has finally released a new album titled "Yours Truly" in July 2011. Rome Ramirez joins Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh to play their first gig in 2009. Following in 2010 was their first US tour together as a band. Being proof that it is impossible to replace Nowell, I believe Rome does a great job with his lyrics and voice. Sounding like Sublime in their later years when they were at their peak, Yours Truly really brings out the catchy pop & ska/reggae/hip hop feels. The lyrics are more about chasing girls rather than bitchy landlords and dog shit, but still says a little something for everyone. Featuring hip hop artist Wiz Khalifa on the track "Can You Feel It", Sublime With Rome bring out the groovy vibes everyone is waiting for. I think put a little bit of Long Beach Dub All Stars with some Sublime and you will end up with Sublime with Rome. SWR is stoked to announce that they will be headlining on the second night of shows at the Fueled By Ramen 15th anniversary in NYC Sep. 8th 2011. Having tour dates from summer '11, to the end of November, SWR is sure to stay busy for the rest of the year. You can check their tour dates at sublimewithrome.com to see if they are stopping by your city. I'm sure this is one show no one would want to miss. August 14 they will stopping by Austin, Tx. with 311 at the backyard. I will be sure to go to that show since its the closest they will be stopping to San Antonio, Tx. Yours Truly is a great album and should be heard by every Sublime fan. Take a listen to their lead off single from the album "Panic" to see what you think. I can promise you wont be dissatisfied.
